2026年のサマーファンは、子どもたちがジャングルや熱帯雨林の不思議な世界に触れ、たくさん発見する一週間から始まりました。
子どもたちは、スライドを見たり、話し合ったり、絵本や歌、科学遊びやさまざまな体験活動を通して、熱帯雨林に生息する植物や動物が暮らす環境について学びました。
「どんな動物がいるのかな？」「どんな植物が育っているのかな？」と、子どもたちの興味や好奇心はどんどん広がり、やがて「本物のジャングルを探検したら、どんな感じなんだろう？」と想像を膨らませるようになりました。
そして、学んだことをもとに、今度は自分たちの手で教室に「レインフォレスト」を作り始めました。
その後の数週間、子どもたちは絵を描いたり、切ったり、貼ったり、組み立てたりしながら、お友だちと力を合わせて、つるや葉、植物、ジャングルハウス、そして色とりどりのジャングルの動物たちを作りました。
さらに、段ボール箱などの身近な素材を使って、発表会で披露する「Walking in the Jungle」には大きなトラを、「We're Going on a Bear Hunt」には迫力のある大きなクマを作りました。
これらの活動は、単に教室を飾るための制作ではありません。子どもたちは、学んだことや感じたことを自分たちの手で形にすることで、知識をより身近なものとして実感し、学びを深めていきました。
その過程で、創造力や協調性、コミュニケーション力を育みながら、手先を使う力や問題解決力も身につけていきました。
また、「自分たちの学びの環境を自分たちで作る」という経験を通して、一人ひとりが役割を持ち、考え、工夫しながら活動することの楽しさも味わいました。
少しずつ私たちの教室は子どもたちの想像力と頑張りがいっぱい詰まった、活気あふれるレインフォレストへと変わっていきました。
そして迎えたサマーファン・オープンスクール当日。
子どもたちは、自分たちで作り上げた作品を家族に嬉しそうに紹介し、歌やダンスを披露しました。
さらに、保護者の皆さまにも「Jungle Dance」に参加していただき、笑顔と笑い声に包まれた楽しいひとときとなりました。
熱帯雨林について「学ぶ」ことから始まり、自分たちの「ジャングルを創り」、そして最後にはその学びと作品を「家族と分かち合う」。
その一つひとつの過程が、子どもたちにとって大切な学びと成長の経験となりました。
たくさんのことを発見し、想像し、工夫し、仲間と協力しながら、素晴らしい作品と時間を作り上げた子どもたち。私たちは、そんな小さな探検家たちの成長と頑張りを心から誇りに思います。

From Learning to Creating: Our Rainforest & Jungle Adventure

Our Summer Fun 2026 began with a week full of learning and discovery as the children explored the fascinating world of the jungle and rainforest.
Through slides, discussions, stories, songs, science activities, and hands-on learning, the children discovered rainforest plants, animals, habitats, and the amazing environment in which they live. They became curious about the many different creatures and plants found in the rainforest and began to imagine what it would be like to explore a real jungle.
Then, inspired by what they had learned, our little explorers began creating their own rainforest environment at school.
Over the following weeks, the children painted, cut, glued, built, and worked together to create vines, leaves, plants, a jungle house, and many colorful jungle animals. They also used recycled boxes and other materials to create large animal props for their special presentation—including a big tiger for “Walking in the Jungle” and a giant bear for “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.”
These activities were more than simply making decorations. The children were able to turn their learning into something they could see, touch, and create with their own hands. Through the process, they practiced creativity, cooperation, communication, fine motor skills, and problem-solving while taking responsibility for creating their own learning environment.
Our classroom gradually transformed into a lively rainforest, filled with the children’s imagination and hard work.
Finally, during our Summer Fun Open School, the children proudly shared their creations and performed their songs and dances for their families. Parents were also invited to join our Jungle Dance, making the celebration full of smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories.
From learning about the rainforest, to creating our own jungle, and finally sharing it with our families, every step of our Summer Fun adventure was a meaningful learning experience.
We are so proud of our little explorers and all that they discovered, created, and accomplished together.
