5月16日、子どもたちにとって大変貴重な国際交流の機会となる「パキスタンを学ぶ日」を開催しました。ご協力いただいたのは、パキスタン出身で現在日本で活動されている心あたたかな修道女、シスターEstherです。
イベントの前日、シスターEstherは、長年モンテッソーリ教育に携わってこられた経験豊富な日本人のモンテッソーリ・シスターたちと一緒に教室を飾りつけてくださいました。バロチスタン州、カイバル・パクトゥンクワ州、パンジャーブ州、シンド州というパキスタンの4つの州を表すカラフルな布で彩られた教室は、明るく温かなパキスタンの雰囲気に包まれました。
当日、シスターEstherは、パキスタンの文化、言語、服装、食べ物、そして伝統について素敵なプレゼンテーションをしてくださいました。さらに、伝統的なパキスタンのダンスも披露してくださり、みんなにステップを教えてくださいました。子どもたちも先生たちも一緒になって踊り、笑顔と笑い声であふれる時間となりました！
プレゼンテーションのあとはQ&Aタイム。先生と子どもたちがそれぞれ質問や答えを交わしました。子どもたちがどれだけたくさんのことを覚えて理解していたかが感じられ、とても嬉しく思いました。
続いて、特別なティーパーティーを開きました。シスターEstherが用意してくださったおいしいチャイは、子どもたちも楽しめるように、紅茶・ミルク・砂糖でやさしくアレンジされたものでした。年長の生徒が笑顔で「チャイティーいかがですか？」と声をかけてみんなにチャイをいれてくれました。
さらに、教室でパキスタン風のカレーとナンも楽しみ、本物の味を満喫しました。
感謝の気持ちを込めて、子どもたちは心を込めた「ありがとうメッセージ」を準備し、イベントの最後にシスターEstherにプレゼントしました。それはとても感動的で、あたたかい気持ちでいっぱいになりました。
シスターEsther、日本のモンテッソーリ・シスターの皆さま、そしてこの素晴らしい文化交流イベントを支えてくださったすべての方々に、心より感謝いたします。学びがあり、笑顔があふれ、国を超えたつながりを感じる、本当に素敵な一日になりました。

Learning About Pakistan
We were blessed with a wonderful opportunity to learn about the beautiful country of Pakistan with the help of Sr. Esther, a kind and passionate nun and teacher from Pakistan.
The day before the event, Sr. Esther, along with retired Japanese Montessori Sisters—experienced teachers with over four decades of Montessori work—decorated our classroom using colorful fabrics to represent the four provinces of Pakistan: Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. The room was filled with vibrant colors and a warm Pakistani atmosphere.
On the day of the event, Sr. Esther gave a lovely presentation about Pakistani culture, language, clothing, food, and traditions. She also shared a traditional Pakistani dance with us, teaching the steps to everyone. Children and teachers joined in, dancing with smiles and laughter!
Following the presentation, we held a Q&A session, where both teachers and children asked and answered questions. It was a joyful moment to see how much the children remembered and understood about Pakistan!
We then gathered for a special tea party, featuring delicious chai tea prepared by Sr. Esther. It was a gentle version of the classic recipe made with black tea, milk, and sugar, so the children could enjoy it too. Our oldest student, who happily volunteered, served the tea with a big smile, kindly asking everyone, “Do you like some chai tea?”
We also enjoyed Pakistani-style curry and naan bread, bringing the taste of Pakistan to our classroom.
To show our gratitude, the children prepared heartfelt thank-you messages, which were presented to Sr. Esther as a gift after the event. It was a touching moment full of appreciation and joy.
We are truly grateful to Sr. Esther, the Japanese Montessori Sisters, and all who made this beautiful cultural event a success. It was a day filled with learning, joy, and connection — a celebration of friendship across borders.

3月21日、卒園生たちが新たな未来へと踏み出す大切な日をみんなで温かくお祝いしました。
これまでの成長を振り返りながら、一人ひとりの頑張りを誇りに思う、喜びと感動に満ちた時間となりました。
笑顔あふれる素敵な思い出とともに、子どもたちは自信を胸に次のステージへと進んでいきます。
卒園おめでとう！ これからの輝かしい未来を心から応援しています！

Celebrating Our 2nd Graduation Ceremony!
On Friday, March 21st, we proudly celebrated the achievements of our graduates as they took their first steps toward a bright future. 
It was a day filled with joy, heartfelt moments, and unforgettable memories. 
Congratulations to our little graduates—we are so proud of you!

小学校へと次の大きな一歩を踏み出す前に、3月11日に茂原公園で思い出に残るピクニックを楽しみました。
子どもたちは学校から公園まで、そして帰り道も元気いっぱい！　疲れた様子も見せず、ワクワクしながら歩いていました。
博物館を探検したり、思いきり遊んだり、かわいいお弁当を楽しんだり… 友だちとたくさん笑い合いながら、楽しい時間を過ごしました。
卒園準備で忙しい毎日でしたが、ようやくこの素敵な思い出が作れたことを嬉しく思っています。

Before our graduating students take their next big step to elementary school, we had a memorable picnic at Mobara Park on March 11!
The children walked enthusiastically from school to the park and back—no complaints, just excitement!
They explored the museum, played to their hearts’ content, and enjoyed their adorable obentou (lunch boxes).
It was a beautiful day of fun, friendship, and laughter. Though we’ve been busy preparing for graduation, we’re happy to finally share these moments! 

ひな祭りは、3月3日に祝われる日本の伝統的な祭りで、女の子の健康や幸せ、繁栄を願う特別な日です。家庭では、帝の宮廷を模した美しいひな人形が飾られ、良い運をもたらすとされています。
先週、子どもたちはひな祭りについて学びました。語彙や歴史、歌、アートやクラフト、そしてお楽しみのクイズゲームなど、さまざまなことを学びました！
また、実際にひな人形の飾りつけを手伝い、このお祝いをさらに特別なものにしてくれました。
今日は欠席で参加できなかった子もいましたが、みんなでひな祭りをお祝いしました。ひなあられや菱餅、キャンディーをみんなで分け合い、この美しい伝統を大切にお祝いしました。
皆さんにとって素敵で意味のあるひな祭りになりますように！この祭りが、すべての人々に幸せと健康をもたらしますように。

Did you know? Hina Matsuri, or Girls’ Day, is a traditional Japanese festival celebrated on March 3rd. It’s a special day to wish girls health, happiness, and prosperity. Families display beautiful Hina dolls, representing the imperial court, to bring good fortune.
Last week, the children began learning all about Hina Matsuri, from vocabulary and history to songs, arts and crafts, and their favorite—quiz games! They also helped set up and decorate the real Hina doll display, making the celebration even more special.
Today, although some children were absent, it didn’t stop us from enjoying the festival. We shared Hina Arare, Hishimochi, and candies, embracing the traditions of this beautiful celebration.
Wishing everyone a joyful and meaningful Hina Matsuri! May this festival bring happiness and good health to all!

先週の金曜日、春の訪れを祝う日本の伝統行事「節分」をお祝いしました。この行事では、鬼を追い払って福を呼び込むために、みんなで豆をまきながら「鬼は外！福は内！」と唱えます。
週の初めに節分について学んだ後、子どもたちは「豆まき」に楽しんで参加しました。今回は、大豆の代わりに自分たちで作った新聞ボールを使いました。
部屋の中は笑い声と興奮でいっぱいになり、みんなで「鬼」に向かって新聞ボールを投げましたが、2人の小さな子どもたちはちょっと怖がって泣いてしまう場面もありました。
最後に、特別なおやつが配られ、楽しい1日を締めくくりました。文化的な伝統を楽しみながら、子どもたちにとって思い出に残る素晴らしい時間となりました。

Last Friday, we celebrated Setsubun, a traditional Japanese event that welcomes the arrival of spring. As part of this custom, people throw beans while chanting “Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!” to drive away evil spirits and invite good fortune.
After reviewing the lesson about Setsubun earlier in the week, the children eagerly took part in the ‘Bean Throwing’ event. Instead of soybeans, they used newspaper balls they had made themselves. Laughter and excitement filled the room as they tossed them at the “oni,” though two of our little ones found the experience a bit overwhelming and shed a few tears.
To end the celebration on a happy note, the children received a special snack, making the day even more enjoyable. It was a wonderful way for them to connect with cultural traditions in an engaging and memorable way.
